In February, we got the opportunity to support a great cause and one of our great clients and friends at his birthday extravaganza in San Francisco. Alex Tourk, founder of Ground Floor Public Affairs and 2,000 Open Doors Initiative is experienced in politics and government and highly passionate about solutions to homelessness. As Deputy Chief of Staff to Mayor Newsom, Alex created and implemented Project Homeless Connect, a unique civic initiative adopted by over 200 cities worldwide. Next month we’re releasing a brand new episode of Ask Ashley with Alex as our guest!

This New Year’s he celebrated his 30th anniversary of living and working in San Francisco — in his reflection of this milestone, Alex remarked that regardless of the challenges the city faces, he remains “all in” on San Francisco. He believes that San Francisco always reemerges and there will be a renaissance once again (something his #ItAllStartsHereSF campaign aims to highlight). For his birthday, he emphasized not only his passion for solutions to homelessness (see his 2,000 Open Doors Initiative) but also his passion for baseball. After being elected to serve on the San Francisco Giants Community Fund Board of Directors in January this year, Alex wanted to drive support to this fund which serves tens of thousands of children who don’t have access to sports and recreation programs. He believes that together “we will ensure that San Francisco rebuilds its reputation as the City that leads the world in innovation, justice and creativity.”
