Throwback to the 2015 NASA Ames Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems
In 2015, Montgomery Entertainment helped produce an event highlighting the latest developments in aviation at the NASA Ames Research Center’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Traffic Management Convention from July 28-30. This inaugural conference, co-sponsored by NASA and the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), brought together global thought leaders to explore the future of low-altitude flight and unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
The convention was a convergence of industries, with representatives from NASA, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Amazon, Google, and many others. These key players discussed not only the technological advancements in unmanned aircraft, but also the critical topics of privacy, safety, and security.
The discussions at the convention focused on the burgeoning field of UAS and its implications for the future of air traffic management. NASA's focus was on developing a traffic management system that could safely integrate UAS into the national airspace. This is particularly relevant as we see an increasing number of drones being used for everything from package delivery to aerial photography.
