May the Fourth Be With You!

May the Fourth be with you! For any Star Wars fans, you’ll already know that yesterday was the day to celebrate this incredible series created by George Lucas. In honor of this day, we're throwing it back to when our CEO helped produce the benefit premiere of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, on May 12, 2005, in San Francisco. There were 10 premieres across 10 cities from San Francisco to New York, where hundreds of Star Wars fanatics paid up to $500 apiece to attend the premiere of the final film in the Star Wars series. In attendance was director George Lucas, who signed autographs for fans. Also in attendance was actor Jake Lloyd, who played young Anakin Skywalker in Episode I - The Phantom Menace, and actor Jason Lewis.

This premiere was hosted as a benefit for Family House and raised $500K. Family House is a home away from home for families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. The organization provides temporary housing to families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at the University of California San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital.
