We Left Our Hearts in San Francisco!

Our CEO Ashley Montgomery has had the privilege of working on some of San Francisco’s most beloved events, including the Hearts in San Francisco project and the Heroes & Hearts Luncheon. This project, which debuted in 2004, was worked on by Ashley from 2004 to 2007. These initiatives celebrate art, community, and philanthropy, all while supporting the vital work of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.

The Hearts in San Francisco Project

The Hearts in San Francisco project debuted in 2004 with an ambitious and inspiring vision. Over 131 heart sculptures, crafted by talented local Bay Area artists, were displayed throughout San Francisco, capturing the imagination of both residents and visitors. For three months, these vibrant sculptures adorned the cityscape, creating a public art exhibition that celebrated the creative spirit of San Francisco.

After their time on display, the hearts were auctioned off by the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. The proceeds from this auction went directly to support Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, ensuring that this essential institution could continue to provide top-notch care to the community.

The Birth of Heroes & Hearts

Building on the success of the Hearts in San Francisco project, the Heroes & Hearts Luncheon was introduced in 2006. This annual seated luncheon serves as a significant fundraiser and community event, bringing people together to celebrate and support the critical role that Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital plays in the city.

Heroes & Hearts serves multiple purposes:

  • Celebration: It celebrates the essential services provided by the hospital and its impact on the community.

  • Continuation: It continues the tradition of the Hearts in San Francisco project by displaying and auctioning new heart sculptures.

  • Recognition: It honors local heroes whose actions have significantly improved the community.

  • Fundraising: It raises much-needed funds to support the mission of the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation.

Honoring Heroes and Supporting Healthcare

Sponsored by the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, Heroes & Hearts is a testament to the city's appreciation for its local heroes. These are the individuals who go above and beyond to make San Francisco a first-class city. Each year at the luncheon, exceptional community heroes are spotlighted for their contributions, inspiring others to engage in acts of kindness and service.

In addition to honoring these heroes, the event showcases several new heart artworks. These pieces are auctioned off, with all proceeds going directly to support San Francisco General Hospital. The combination of art, community recognition, and philanthropy makes the Heroes & Hearts Luncheon a unique and impactful event.

A Legacy of Impact

Since its inception, the Hearts in San Francisco project and the Heroes & Hearts Luncheon have collectively raised over $3 million for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. This remarkable achievement underscores the power of community collaboration and the impact of these events on supporting healthcare services in the city.
