Several years ago, our CEO turned the famous windy Lombard Street road into a life-sized Candy Land board! This had never been done before, let alone the road hadn’t been used for much other than tourists and car commercials — it seemed like a lofty task! But our CEO had no problem beautifully executing this larger-than-life concept! The execution of this dream is an excellent example of planning something that’s never been done before. Before Ashley turned it into a giant board game, the street had been used limitedly, primarily for commercials. It’s essential to dream when it comes to events because you never want to limit yourself when you want to do something great.

That being said, it’s important to note that there are always limitations. Have you ever heard of the “Good, Fast, Cheap” Venn Diagram? In this model, you have three different circles intersecting — the concept is that you can do or have something that’s good, fast, or cheap. Sometimes, two out of the three will cross, but you can never have all three combined. That means you can’t have something that’s good, fast, and cheap. If you want something great, something extraordinary (like our CandyLand example) you don’t want to limit the possibilities by restricting yourself with time or money. There’s always a way to fulfill your dream, but it doesn’t come fast or cheap.
